The name "Dixie Chicks" comes from the Little Feat song "Dixie Chickens". This was the original name of the group until sister Martie Maguire insisted that she could not bear to be a chicken. She wanted a more mature name and decided that she wanted to be a chick rather than a chicken. They then called themselves the Dixie Chicks. The catchy name has stuck with them since then. Now When you hear the word Dixie or the word Chick, what is usually the first thing that comes into your mind? Would I be right if I said Dixie Chicks?If not, I think you're in the wrong place!
